Though this really only occurs briefly in Sugar Rush Showdown, it really makes for a not so pleasant experience. Another problem facing this score is some times the synth feels overbearing against the orchestra.
Because of it the score is nothing more than beautiful moments that do not feel connected. But still to string along a basic theme would have been nice to the ears. Which given how much Ralph bounces from world to world it makes sense in the narrative sense. With no common theme, the score feels through-composed. One of the problems though with this score is that while Jackman maintains a very nice blend, there is no real common theme to the movie. The cue features moving strings, a bounding base line, but also some outstanding chorus work that recalls the video game Halo. But Jackman never fogets the orchestra and the cue Rocket Fiasco alone is the stand out cue not only proves Jackman's orchestral writing, it is also the stand out cue on album. The score opens with Wreck it Ralph, which has this calm and grooving feel to that jumps straight to Life In The Arcade, which is where most of the nostalgic sounds are located. Jackman makes use of both a real life orchestra and a bunch of 8 bit synth for the score which actually helps give the score that video game feel. So does that mean the same thing can be said for Wreck it Ralph? Not entirely. What Puss in Boots proved was that Jackman was more than capable of writing a thematic narrative to a driven score with momemts of great action and drama.

Out of the Penthouse, Off to the Race – Score Wreck-It, Wreck-It Ralph – Buckner & GarciaĢ2. But in the meantime catch the soundtrack when it’s released October 30 th. Reilly and Jack McBrayer offering up their voices as Wreck-It Ralph and Fix-It Felix, and a ‘ Roger Rabbit‘-esque world-jumping narrative, we can’t wait to take a look when the film lands on November 2nd. The film’s director, Rich Moore (“ Futurama”), has clearly put a talented team together for the soundtrack, and luckily after a glimpse at the film’s trailer, that seems to extend wholeheartedly to the actual film itself. Oh, and there’s also an original song by Owl City, “When Can I See You Again?” for what that information is worth. Finally, rounding out the collection are Rihanna‘s “Shut Up and Drive” and “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang. Only one of his songs, “Bug Hunt (Noisa Remix)” has landed intact, while the majority of the soundtrack belonging to composer Henry Jackman (“ X-Men: The Last Stand”), although Skrillex may have overseen certain aspects of it. Featuring a meta-video game narrative with 70+ characters shown, as well as a vibrant aesthetic that snaps attention to the screen, another compelling aspect remains the Skrillex-involved soundtrack, the details of which have just been released.Įyebrows were definitely raised when dubstep producer Skrillex announced he was following up Harmony Korine‘s “ Spring Breakers” by contributing music for ‘Ralph’ - as well as snagging a cameo in the film - but after a glimpse at the final tracklist, it seems that his presence as a solo artist will remain at a minimum for now. Though initially low-profile on the Disney Animation release slate while ambitious in its scope, “ Wreck-It Ralph” has slowly become one of the more interesting offerings on show this holiday season.
